Robert (Bob) Earle, P.Geol.
Bob Earle is a professional geologist with 40 years of geoscience experience. After graduating with a BSc. in Geology from the University of Calgary in 1978 and completing four summers working across Canada in mineral exploration, he began research into uranium in black shales and phosphates at the University of Calgary. In 1984, following five years as a Wellsite Geologist throughout western Canada and the arctic, a partnership was formed and Bob became President of Pro Geo Consultants, a leading geological consulting company. Always seeking new and innovative means to understand petroleum geology, he created a geological Lab and Analytic facility in 2014 to better characterize petroleum reservoirs using leading edge technology and analytics. Bob is a long-time member and sponsor of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG) and a professional member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (APEGA) of Alberta, Canada.
Scott Thain, P.Geol.
Scott Thain is a professional geologist with over 15 years of experience in both wellsite geology and in operations management for Pro Geo. Scott graduated from the University of Regina with a B.Sc. (Honours) in Geology and is a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG) and a professional member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (APEGA) of Alberta, Canada.
Mustafa Pasha, P.Geol.
Senior Geosteering Manager
Mustafa Pasha is a professional geologist with over 25 years of experience in both wellsite geology and geosteering operations. Pasha holds a Masters of Science (Structural & Petroleum Geology) from the University of the Punjab (1981). After several years as a wellsite geologist, including as Team Lead on several Canadian SAGD projects involving geosteering, Pasha joined the team at Saudi Aramco as a Geosteering Geologist until 2012, at which point he was promoted to Geosteering Team Lead. Pasha returned to Canada in 2016 and continued to lead a number of Canadian geosteering operations until his arrival at Pro Geo in 2022. Pasha is a professional member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (APEGA) of Alberta, Canada and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
James Ablett, B.Sc. Geology

James Ablett joined Pro Geo after over a decade in business development in the oil and gas industry. James received his B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Calgary before working with Weatherford as a logging engineer in western Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, the Middle East and North Africa. James returned to Canada and used his strong technical skills and customer driven focus to provide solutions with Halliburton for oil and gas companies, ranging from junior start-ups to well established multi-nationals. James served as President of the Canadian Well Logging Society (CWLS) and is a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG)
Amjed Cheema, PhD, P.Geol.
Lab & Analytics Team Lead & Managing Partner
Amjed’s prime expertise was developed in the field of sedimentology. Amjed worked as a Geologist/Senior Geologist at the Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan before immigrating to Canada in 2001. Amjed developed a strong background in wellsite geology, petrography, XRD, XRF and electron microscopic analysis. Amjed's extensive experience of over 30 years includes development of depositional and diagenetic models using microfacies, sedimentology, geochemistry, well log interpretation and data integration. Amjed has published a number of papers, abstracts and presentations and currently runs Pro Geo's Lab & Analytics as Team Lead and Managing Partner, in addition to his time as a Senior Wellsite Geologist.
